Journalism is a love affair, sans a breakup. Just like love, it chooses you (unlike in other professions). It makes you go through the various stages of love – the meeting, getting to know one another better, working on it, the disappointment (especially in terms of paycheck), disillusionment (when the best of your stories are hacked to meet word count), and depression (because you are very often told that you have no life). Well, you don’t. Because Journalism becomes life. You live with it, no matter how much it sucks you in.

As someone who has had a steady relationship with Journalism (with ups and downs of course), I would love Journalism to choose me again and again.

To that love for news, for stories untold, for reports without bias, for the hungry journalist in me, is this page – Journalist Not On A Break. No journalist ever is.
